i can also be found most days hanging out at the (aforeposted) Ronald Reagan Fitness Center. and i have a bit of laboratory space carved out in the gym where i knit together and practice a physical training regimen. i do this to build up stamina, develop strength, and work on my flexibility because the version of the Lord’s work that i’ve been entrusted with takes physicality as it’s initial building block and chiefest currency.
a typical day’s training notes might read thus:
NIGHT - voice work
Felix compulsory
ran 10”
strength training: pushed cart one rev.
25 push-ups
➀ monkey-bar pass
➁ reps reclining angle leg-lifts
(prepped stone)
* * *
KIDS IN THE HOUSE (w/ horizontal floor contraction/ extension)
- worked walls
- two new shapes w/ walls
beginnings of BIRD CONTRACTION/ EXTENSION
*JUMPING revolutions: steady/ opposition [new idea for collapse]
SINGING (good back-to-back partner work)
that probably makes no sense to anyone but me, but- - i videotape it all, and then throw it on an external hardrive to be edited down for future reference for both myself and my collaborators. you may have noticed that i make note of “good back-to-back partner work” when, in fact, i have no partner at present to work with save the owl and the opossum, the little frog that lives in the boiler room, and of course the innumerable howling dogs that patrol every corral, barn, doorstep and prairie frontage that i pass.
it’s been cold, which also makes the floor in the gym rather hard to work on. but yeah, Nate, i need only to summon the vision of Meyerhold in the gulag to mush on past such a relatively minor obstacle.
besides, i have been provided with extraordinary wool socks by my hostess Nikol to fit under my tabi for such days.
